New website design and Bloglovin’

Hey guys! First I want to apologize for not writing the last few days but I am sick at the moment and I was working on my new website, which took me basically 3 days. So much trouble but now is done and up so you can check it out on http://www.maggiecallife.com 🙂

Blue love

street3Finally! Spring is finally here! I’m so excited that I am able to wear my favorite new blue trench coat that I bought in January from Stockholm. Yeah, I know, January is too early for spring coats..but the moment i saw it I fell in love and had to get it even though I knew I had to wait like 4 months until I can actually wear it oustide. Blue is huge this season and nonetheless makes me stand out from the crowd, which of course is always good. 🙂 Unfortunately for me (not for you though) now the price is much lower than when i bought it but – no regrets! It’s my little wardrobe treasure and I was staring at it all winter like a piece of art. Finally in use now! 🙂

Favorites from the Chanel’s Resort collection

Hey guys! Chanel’s show was last night in Dubai and I was so excited to see today how was it. The collection, complementing the location, is pretty colorful, with many details, a bit different than what I’m used to see from Chanel. Of course the tweed and simplicity were still there. But I also saw a lot of arabic prints, tunics, leggings and harem pants. I chose my favorites and as you can see I’m still more into the simple colors like black and white, and some nice light colours plus floral prints that I love this spring. I guess even Chanel can’t change me yet! 🙂

Hey everyone! Can somebody please tell me why is it still so cold and rainy? I start wondering if summer will ever come to Finland! Don't be fooled by the fact that I'm not wearing any jacket, it was all just for the photoshoot.:) I visited some clothing stores yesterday and was looking at the cute loose shorts that are now everywhere but I think I won't even need them at all but let's see. I still wear my beanies and sweaters, as you can see from the pictures. I tried to find my bag from the DKNY's online store, where I bought it from, so I can show you, but it's not there anymore. So if you live in Helsinki try Stockmann. I think they still have it there, or at least the similar model.

How to spice up your basics

Are you one of those people that have only black, grey and white jeans and t-shirts in their wardrobe? Do you feel stupid looking the same way every day? Well I can give you some tips on how to fresh it up and look awesome with just a little touch.

The last year I focused mostly on buying staples, because I used to have only colorful clothes that didn't really go with everything, and you know how annoying it is to wear “this” shirt with only “this” pair of pants and not be able to use the maximum of your clothes. So after I bought all of the grey and black jeans, white shirts and basic jackets I realized that now the accent is missing. So I'll tell you what i changed and what really helped me to spice up my wardrobe.

1. Colorful outerwear – If you have your jeans and t-shirt on and you add a bright and more interesting piece on top you instantly have an amazing outfit and people will notice you on the street. If you are too scared to risk it buy some light pastel colour trench – they are not that “in your face” but still very fashionable for the upcoming season and still will bring some interest in your outfit. Or if you want it bold just pick any bright color, print or whatever your imagination leads you to.

2. Statement accessories – Necklace, hat, bag – if they are with interesting design or colour you definitely got it right. For example the hat doesn't need to be anything special – just because you decided to add a hat to your look it immediately works it's job. And a bag is always a good statement – everybody looks at it anyways.

3. Interesting shoes – Well for me shoes are the most important part. If you choose something with interesting design it's enough like these shoes from Robert Clergerie. For spring-summer I really like floral print on flats and sneakers (I'm not really a heels type of girl 🙂

Hey guys! Today’s outfit is a favorite because of the neon hat. I really like wearing my grey/black/white basics with a pop of color. Brightens up the whole look! And of course – I had to add my favorite sneakers and backpack for a bit of a cool vibe. I always roll up my pants and jeans because this first, is very trendy at the moment, and second, makes it effortless. For me that’s the key for everything! Finally the weather is getting better in here so I can wear just a t-shirt and a denim jacket. The dream for everybody in Scandinavia! 🙂

I’ve been thinking what new piece of clothing I need in my closet. Summer is coming (eventhough it’s a horrible rainy dark day today) so i thought shorts are a good idea. But since i never wear shorts because they always seem unflattering on me when they are too short or skinny I saw this pair from Zara and I was sold immediately. The perfect combination of comfort and chic. In general this type of relaxed and wide trousers is very in for this season and I think they can be worn with everything.

1. Sneakers

Sneakers, sneakers… what would we do without you in our everyday life?! Being comfortable and fashionable – what else could we want? I like to rock mine as a fashion staple with every kind of outfit, they basically go with everything. And a good pair of sneakers can add a bit of glamour to your fitness and running routine. My favorites right now are obviously Nike and, to be honest, they are actually not that big of an investment. Also white classic Converse are the shoes that probably will never go out of fashion. But of course if you want a bit higher end, these Common Projects and Saint Laurent slip-ons are the coolest and i want them!

Well girls, we all love our bags. Good bag is a good staple for your whole life. Backpacks are everywhere right now. Very handy, effortless, perfect for days when you need to bring a bit more things with you. I just saw this Marc by Marc Jacobs backpack in a store in Helsinki and fell in love! If you are not really into this sporty chic style i would suggest you to invest in a timeless shoulder bag for your everyday use. There are so many amazing designer bags to choose from – expensive and.. expensive 🙂
